STEP 1
Prerequisites

This course requires completion of prerequisite material before the first day of live training. This includes a preliminary lesson, orientation, and required reading.

STEP 2
Live In-Person Instruction

This event will be conducted in-person.

STEP 3
Consultation

Ten hours of consultation are required as part of any EMDRIA Approved Basic Training. Thrive has included the cost of these 10 hours of consultation as part of your basic training registration fee.

Instructors

Christopher Floro

Chris is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist specializing in trauma treatment as well as individual, couples, and family therapy. He has over 29 years' experience as a pastoral counselor, military chaplain, and marriage & family therapist. His areas of expertise are treating post-traumatic stress, acute stress, sexual abuse, and physical abuse. As an interactive EMDR trainer, his approach is to provide energetic and enthusiastic training designed to help you be brilliant with the basics of the Standard 8-Phase EMDR modality. Chris has trained over 5,000 clinicians in the use of EMDR since 2015. He has been married to Holly since 1986 and together they raised 5 children during a 29-year military career that spanned the globe. Now living in Florence, SC, they continue to be deeply involved in the life of their family, their 9 grandchildren, their local church, and anti-human trafficking efforts in Nepal. Chris is the founder and owner of Thrive Counseling & Consulting, PLLC and of Thrive Training & Publications, LLC.

Gina Nelson

Gina opened her therapy practice in 2017 after a 20-year career as a medical and trauma social worker in hospitals. Her vision for her practice was to create a colorful, yet calm and safe place, where people could embrace vulnerability and change. She is a certified EMDR therapist who helps individuals overcome physical and emotional trauma from their past so they can be free from anxiety and depression that weighs them down. She is the creator of Combating Teen Anxiety – her proven 10 step method to reduce teen anxiety and give teens the skills to successfully manage their emotions. In addition to her practice, Gina offers corporate workshops and keynote speaking. Her 23 years of clinical expertise allow her to help adults and teens catch their anxiety before it gets out of control, and to practice owning, speaking, and releasing their emotions in a more productive way.

PREREQUISITES

Before the first day of training, students must complete these steps.

TRAINING ELIGIBILITY

You must meet certain requirements to take EMDR Basic Training.

CONSULTATION

Ten hours of consultation are required as part of any EMDRIA Approved Basic Training.

CERTIFICATION

Once you have completed an EMDR Basic Training, you are considered to be an EMDR-trained clinician. EMDR Certification with EMDRIA is a separate process, and requires additional continuing education and consultation in EMDR.

CE CREDITS

Participants will receive 40 hours of continuing education credit upon completing the live training segment of this course.
