Development-Focused
Lessons are shaped around the emotional, relational, and cognitive needs of growing children.
A Thrive Project in Development
A complete K–5 homeschool curriculum designed around how children grow—not just what they need to know.
Homeschooling can be more than an academic alternative. It can be a vehicle for growing healthy, curious children.
A different foundation
Children learn best when they feel safe, connected, and able to regulate. Developmental Homeschool Curriculum brings child development and attachment theory into the heart of home education—helping parents build both academic confidence and a strong foundation for lifelong wellbeing.
Lessons are shaped around the emotional, relational, and cognitive needs of growing children.
Academics meet wellness, creativity, practical life skills, and family connection.
Children investigate, create, question, and learn how to make meaning—not simply memorize facts.
Learning becomes an opportunity to strengthen connection, understand each child, and grow together.
The learning pathway
This curriculum respects the natural order of development. Secure children are better able to regulate; regulated children can access learning; and meaningful learning opens the door to creativity.
Consistent care creates the foundation for growth.
Connection gives children confidence to explore.
A grounded body and brain become ready to learn.
Curiosity, retention, and original thinking can flourish.
One connected K–5 curriculum
Core academic skills are woven together with world history, entrepreneurship, health, creativity, and hands-on discovery. The result is a cohesive learning experience that feels purposeful to both children and parents.
Money math, entrepreneurship, business building, AI, and technology.
True world history, geography, detective time, and knowledge reports.
Movement, nutrition, home economics, and mindfulness.
Living books, reading skills, and meaningful writing.
Art, music, performance, and the creative process.
Life, earth, space, and physical sciences with problem-solving and engineering.
What makes it different
Children are naturally driven to explore, ask questions, and make connections. This curriculum gives that curiosity room to grow—helping children understand their world, discover their strengths, and become confident, independent thinkers.
The partnership
Developed by Bethany Matheson, M.Ed., LPC/MHSP, in partnership with Thrive Training & Publications, this project brings together deep knowledge of child development, mental health, education, and family systems.
At Thrive, we believe in building a legacy of trauma prevention and healing. That work can begin at the earliest stages of development—by helping families create the safety, connection, and support children need to grow.
