ABSTRACT

This course is a 2-Day, 4-Module training intended for those who were recently and fully trained in EMDR or who have previously been fully trained, but have not used EMDR in some time. Each Module builds on the approved EMDR Basic Training curriculum. Module 1 reviews the standard 8-Phase approach as the initial foundation while focusing on recorded EMDR sessions with a client, giving attention to key points of each phase's protocol and developing the scope of practice of each participant. Module 2 picks up with an in-depth look at case conceptualization, assessing client readiness for EMDR, practical application of the AIP model, and assessing client readiness for EMDR. Module 3 focuses on the intervention within the intervention of EMDR Phases 3-6. The intention is to build skills with case conceptualization by developing congruent core belief systems that significantly help minimize difficulties during processing. Module 4 concentrates on reinforcing these skills and developing a participant's ability to think critically about these new skills by looking at other recorded EMDR sessions.

OBJECTIVES

• Recall, describe, and engage each of EMDR's 8 Phases.
• Predict and discuss case conceptualization skills.
• Investigate and distinguish a client's readiness for EMDR processing.
• Identify six psychoeducation topics that can be used in preparing a client for EMDR.
• Develop and apply core belief congruency approach using Bucket and Locus of Control concepts.
• Distinguish at least five appropriate processing skills for Phases 4, 5, and 6.
• Assess and hypothesize three processing variations using BLS to maintain a client within the Window of Tolerance.
• Recall six cognitive interweave situations with actions when a client is stuck in processing.
• Summarize five key EMDR Therapy neurodiversity dynamics.
• Recall and practice Case Conceptualization and Processing skills during case analysis.
